BW8: Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore

I was out of town all week visiting my parents and returned late Saturday. As you can imagine, I didn't have much time to come up with a long, exciting post, so leaving you with this video I found called The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore. Enjoy!

Sorry Gang. They must have changed this while I was on vacation.

  1. I've linked up this week with my review of Bossypants by Tina Fey. This week I'm reading I've Got Your Number by Sophia Kinsella!

  2. I didn't link up to a specific post on Wolf Hall this week as I have not had time to review it. It was pretty good if you are thinking about it. After Wolf Hall and Moby Dick I need something lightweight this week.

  3. I've just posted a review of The Lark and the Wren. Meanwhile, I haven't forgotten Dickens - I'm two chapters into Barnaby Rudge, with some patented Dickens scene-setting and several characters who clearly have Secrets. Only 78 chapters to go!

  4. Finished books 9 & 10. Book #9 "Truce" written by Jim Murphy recounts the amazing Christmas truce that took place on the Western Front during WWI. Despite commanding officers orders, troops on both sides took it upon themselves to cease firing at one another, met one another in no-man's land, and exchanged presents. Book #10 "Midnight in Austenland" by Shannon Hale was a delightful, easy read. A newly divorced woman takes a vacation to Pembrook Park where for 2 weeks she gets to pretend she is living during the time of Jane Austen. An engaging cast of characters along with a mystery makes this a fun, lighthearted book.

  5. I had an "American Tragedy" week and am back at Dickens and David Copperfield! That is taking me a long time to get through (I discovered that it was his longest book, but it isn't as long as War and Peace and Les Miserables (two of my all-time favs! American tragedy is very interesting. I didn't even realize that most of them were in the genre/time period. Interesting to note how Realism/Naturalism took writing away from a moral compass in some respects. Fascinating to me. Thanks for this challenge. It is helping me plow through some books I have long wanted to read.

  6. Oops! I haven't posted my last few books. In the past two weeks I've read Lady Chatterley's Lover (which I thought was good for Valentine's Day), Glazed Murder by Jessica Beck, and I'm currently reading Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen.

  7. Aaand another one - just posted a review of Wormwood Forest. Have you ever wondered what has become of the Chernobyl area since the reactor explosion a quarter-century ago? This book will tell you.

  9. I just figured out how to share on this blog with other readers. (It only took me two months but hey! I prefer books to computers, what can I say.) Just finished The Marriage Plot - very interesting look into love from a mature perspective. Next is a fluff book ... I prefer to alternate from deep to fluff. And @SusanW - Water for Elephants is a great book! Happy Reading.
